Your cover letter should be typed. You are supposed to use your handwriting to sign at the end of your cover letter. You should always prove to your reader that you are such a great personality who knows how to deal with the tools of marketing materials. Do not use colored and glossy paper that is blue, green or gray. If you want to post your letter, it should be sized 8.5x11 and insert into 10x13. Last but not least, you should not negotiate with your reader about your salary, and you should not provide the salary history in your cover letter, this point is usually addressed later in the interview.
